Taipei, Taiwan, May 5 – Delta Electronics, the world's largest supplier of switching power supplies, will exhibit at Electric Vehicle Symposium 26th (EVS26), the global electric transportation industry's premier and largest forum. Delta will showcase electric vehicle charging solutions it has developed in line with its core focus on green energy-efficient solutions. On display will be the 95% efficient CHAdeMO certified Delta DC Quick Charger, and the Delta AC Charger range which offers three flexible mounting options and low standby power consumption.

"In the 41 years since the company's establishment, Delta has been committed to its mission: 'To provide innovative, clean and energy-efficient solutions for a better tomorrow'," said Dr. Herman Chang, General Manager of Delta's Charging and Microgrid Solutions Business Unit. "Delta also announced its new "Smarter. Greener. Together." brand slogan to partners worldwide at Hannover in April. We believe that electric vehicle charging stations should not only be reliable, fast, but should also use energy efficiently. For example, our CHAdeMO certified Delta DC Quick Charger exceeds the standard by achieving energy efficiency of 95%."

The DC Quick Charger manufactured by Delta is CHAdeMO certified and capable of efficiently providing 50–500V DC/50kW, allowing it to fully charge a passenger electric vehicle in less than thirty minutes. With an RFID reader for authorization and a 12" LCD touch-screen the Quick Charger is a fully managed solution with the ability to update drivers on charging status using their mobile devices.

Suitable for residential and commercial use, Delta's SAE J1772 compliant AC charger is designed to be a compact, IP55 solution that uses minimal standby power and includes a convenient on-off switch for zero power consumption. It is available in a Smart model with integrated networking and RFID for access/billing management. The unit is suitable for wall, pole, or pedestal mounting to adapt to different installation requirements.

Delta has just been given a major US Department of Energy contract for electric vehicle charging station development.
